Maui’s King Kekaulike High School in Pukalani was ranked among the top public high schools in the state by the US News and World Report as part of its Best High Schools list released this week.
A 17-year-old Hāna boy suffered fatal injuries in an overnight crash on the Hāna Highway after the vehicle he was driving went off the road, continued approximately 300-feet down a cliff, and landed on lava rocks on the shore where it burst into flames, officials said.
"The constant stress of aircrafts on the runway has caused structural failure of the pavement, and it must be shut down to achieve the necessary full depth reconstruction."
The University of Hawai'i has a total of seven community colleges, including the UH Maui College campus in Kahului, which had a total enrollment of 4,097 students in the fall of 2013.
