Wendy Osher began her career in local radio in 1998 after graduating a year earlier from the University of Southern California with a BA in Journalism. In 2000 she was hired as News Director for Pacific Radio Group where she remains the only full-time multi-media broadcast news employee in Maui County—serving the company’s six Maui stations.
Wendy is also featured as the Maui reporter for the Around Hawaii News Segment on partner television station KHNL News 8. Each weekday morning, Wendy delivers daily highlights of Maui to the rest of the state in her Around Hawaii Maui report.
In 2000 Wendy helped to launch a regularly-scheduled television news program which ran for three years on the Maui Community College station. There she served as an instructor for MCC’s Digital Media curriculum and mentor for college students pursuing broadcast careers. Wendy was also featured as a co-host for the latest edition of MCC’s Election Results Coverage, marking a decade of her dedication to local election returns and political reporting on the Valley Isle.
In her spare time, Wendy loves to dance hula, create art work, and read books about old Hawaii. She is a member of Halau Hula Ke ‘Ala O Ka Maile and a professional Polynesian dancer with CVP Entertainment. Wendy is also a member of the Aha Hui Ka’ahumanu society and a commissioner for the Department of Fire and Public Safety.
